Coldplay tour-dates

The following is taken from the Coldplay's website:
"Sometime in 1997: Chris and I went busking in Covent Garden. It was probably the first incarnation of the band. We played Beatles songs and 'Bear Necessities' and 'Mrs. Robbinson'. We were moved on by the police with only 20p in the hat (which I had put)"

Laki Mera

Οχι δεν πρόκειται για ελληνική μπάντα. Τους άκουσα το πρωι στο ραδιόφωνο και όπως και ο παρουσιαστής, έπαθα πλάκα μαζί τους. Έρχονται απο τη Σκωτία, παιζουν κατι μεταξύ post-rock και electro-ambient και έχουν μια τραγουδίστρια με μαγική φωνή. Ενα δίσκο έχουν βγάλει μέχρι στιγμής και ο οποίος μέχρι πρόσφατα μοιραζόταν μονο online. Λέτε να είναι οι επόμενοι sigur ros όπως υποστήριζε και ο ραδιοφωνικός παρουσιαστής; Αξιζει πάντως να τους τσεκάρετε.

what can somebody learn from LastFM

"Stone Temple Pilots (abbreviated STP) is a popular hard rock band formed after Scott Weiland and Robert DeLeo met at a Black Flag concert in Long Beach, California and discovered that they were dating the same woman. They got to know each other, rather than fight over the woman, who eventually fled to Texas; the two moved into her old San Diego, California apartment and started playing together." (thanx Bill!)

Ελληνικές μπάντες

Εχω αρχίσει να νιώθω οτι ελληνική εναλλακτική μουσική σκηνή έχει ξαναρχίσει να παίρνει τα πάνω της. Τη δεκαετία του '90 ζήσαμε το ξέσπασμα της ελληνόφωνου ροκ και hip hop με Τρύπες, Ξύλινα Σπαθιά, Διάφανα Κρίνα, Active Member, TXC και όλες εκείνες τις μπάντες που μας συντρόφευσαν στο Λύκειο. Τωρα, μετα απο ένα διάστημα πάυσης, έχουν αρχίσει να εμφανίζονται πάλι πολύ αξιόλογοι δίσκοι απο ελληνικές μπάντες αλλά με αγγλικό στίχο αυτή τη φορά και σαφώς επηρεασμένες απο μπάντες όπως οι Placebo, Dandy Warholes αλλά και PJ Harvey (βλ. Monika). Οι Matisse, Film, Cyanna, Raining Pleasure, Abbie Gale, Monika έχουν βγάλει τα τελευταια 2 χρόνια δίσκους που δεν έχουν σε τίποτα να ζηλέψουν ξένες κυκλοφορίες. Βέβαια ο τσαμπουκάς και η αλητεία του Αγγελάκα και του BD Foxmoor έχουν αντικατασταθεί απο ρομαντικούς στίχους που έχουν περισσότερο να κάνουν με χαμένους έρωτες και πληγωμένη εφηβία παρά με πολιτική/κοινωνική παρέμβαση. Νομίζω πάντως οτι σε κάθε περίπτωση το αποτέλεσμα είναι πολύ καλό και ελπίζω σε περισσότερους τέτοιους δίσκους στο μέλλον...
