Δεν ξερω ποσοι εχει τύχει να ακουσετε τον τελευταιο δισκο των Keane - Perfect Symmetry αλλα οσοι δεν το έχετε κάνει πρεπει να το κάνετε το συντομοτερο και να ακουσετε το κομματι Spiralling! Τα υπόλοιπα τραγούδια δεν ξέρω αν αξίζουν. Το spiralling είναι το πρώτο και παίζει ακόμα στο repeat :-)

Και σε καμια περίπτωση μην παραλείψετε να διαβάσετε και τους στίχους....

An evening with Langean & Dulli

O Mark Lanegan, μια απο τις πιο χαρακτηριστικές φυσιογνωμίες της grunge σκηνης, μαζι με τον Greg Dulli (φωνη των Afghan Whigs και επίσης παιδι της SubPop) διασκευάζουν Massive Attack. Ελπίζω η εκτέλεση να σας πείσει οτι αξίζει να τους δείτε στις 4 Φλεβάρη στο Gagarin στα πλαίσια της Ευρωπαικης τους περιοδείας.

Positive Vibration - The positive side of hip hop

Τι θα λέγατε για έναν χαρούμενο hip hop δισκο με πολύ funk και dub-reaggea ήχους που σκοπό έχει να διαδώσει θετική πλευρά του hip hop;

Ο εν λόγω δίσκος είναι μια συλλογή απο δίαφορες συνεργασίες Eλλήνων και ξένων MCs, DJs και μουσικών οι οποίοι προσκλήθηκαν για συναυλία στην Ελλάδα από τη Zoltan Tribe, και με την ευκαιρία, άφησαν και το δικό τους μουσικό στίγμα σε αυτή τη συλλογή. Καλλιτεχνες όπως ο Εισβολέας, οι Professional Sinnerz, o θρυλικός μπασίστας Γιώτης Κιουρτζόγλου (Human Touch), ο Aktarv8r (frontman των Asian Dub Foundation), ο Τακι Τσαν, ο Οδυσσέας των ιστορικών Raazastar, ο DJ Alx, o DJ Everlast και πολύ άλλοι συμμετέχουν.

Απο πέρισυ περιμενα την συλλογή αυτή η οποία τελικά φέτος τέλη Σεπτέμβρη κυκλοφόρησε. Μην περιμένετε να την βρείτε ευκολα στο Internet ή ακόμα και σε γνωστά δισκάδικα. Στην Αθήνα την φέρνει μονο το vinyl microstore και νομίζω αξίζει να δώσετε τα 12 ευρώ για να την αγοράσετε. Σε εμένα πάντως απο χτες το απογεύμα παιζει στο repeat...

Revived 45 heads for 60th birthday

Sales of the vinyl single are now back up above the million mark in the UK. Figures for seven-inch discs, which have now risen to more than one million a year.

But who is actually buying all these singles? According to the British Phonographic Industry, which represents the British music business, a new generation of bands is attracting younger buyers. The BPI says the "popularity of bands such as Oasis, White Stripes [and] Arctic Monkeys" is reviving sales of the seven-inch, while record companies are also credited with using "innovative" strategies to highlight the format. In 2007, the White Stripes and their label, XL Recordings, gave away a red vinyl single mounted on the cover of the NME weekly music magazine.

It came in a gatefold sleeve with space to hold the band's commercial release, Icky Thump - a promotion that resulted in the highest sales for a vinyl seven-inch in more than two decades.
